Objective Repair 1 km of banks/ footpath
Olympic were approached by WLW to undertake a demanding project to import over 1800 tons of chalk fill and path gravels to repair the banks of the breached navigation and over 1500 tons of soil for remedial works. As the site was SSSI and SAC status this along with a 30 meter river crossing and over 1 kilometer of narrow footpath caused its difficulties. Soft bio engineered revetments along with green oak revetments were also used to rebuild the banks to prevent any more breaches at high levels. Working with WLW under CDM regulations using small excavators and the monorail for transport of materials ensured the job went smoothly.
