Client: The Royal Parks

Objective: To install 3 permanent reed beds, 2 floating reed beds.

Olympic were contracted to install over 100 meters of gabion baskets lined and filled with dredged material to form an underwater barrier to retain silts. These were then planted with native aquatic plants forming natural reed beds. Wildfowl fencing was then installed to protect from grazing.

Floating islands were then installed around the cafe area and the duck island to enhance the perimeter and create screening of the over grazed areas.

Olympic undertook the project which was all done from 1 small central compound and water based equipment to minimise disruption within the park.
